Ring the Bells

gold pine bells

Ring the Bells is a fun flash card game for the Christmas season.  Get a golden plastic bell and hang it high on your classroom ceiling.  Make a few Snowballs_from_Yarn and get ready for a rip-roaring time.  (This game works best if your class is trained to recover immediately from exciting events.)  A student pulls a flash card out of a snow hat (or any other container.)  If he responds to it correctly, he throws the “snowball” at the bell.  He can keep the flash card or put it back in the hat.  It’s a great game to play to get the blood flowing a little.  The kids are usually a lot more attentive after a short fling with the bell.  You can leave it up for the month of January, too!
